It all started when…

Jordan’s allergies were out of control. He LOVES ice cream (and dairy in general) but milk makes his nose run like a fire hydrant. So I made this banana based “ice cream”to supplement our need for a Netflix and chill snack that was not only going to keep his allergies at bay, but was actually really healthy too!

Ingredients
2 servings -3 frozen bananas (cut into small pieces before frozen)
-1 heaping tbsp peanut butter
-1/4 cup cocoa powder
-1/4 cup oat milk

Disclaimer: If you have a super powerful blender like a Vitamix you shouldn’t need to add all ingredients at different times like I’m explaining below. You should be able to just add all ingredients and blend at once. If you have a little less powerful blender like myself, the directions below explain how to work with what you got to get the right consistency!

Directions

Add half of frozen bananas & half of oat milk to blender until smoothly blended.

  1. Add about half of the cocoa powder leaving the other half for later. Blend until smooth. You may need to mix the cocoa powder into the liquid before you blend on high.

  2. Add the rest of the oat milk, peanut butter, and cocoa powder. Keep blending until smooth.

  3. Start to add the rest of the banana pieces one piece at a time.(sometimes too much will clog the blender up making it harder to blend)

  4. A quick stir in between can help! If the blender is still having a hard time, add tiny amounts of oat milk in between the blends.

  5. Keep blending and adding banana until fully blended!

  6. Place in freezer for about 30 - 45 min!

  7. Take out & devour immediately :)
