Chocolate Maca Smoothie
It all started when…
we were trying to survive a 100 degree day in Cancun, Mexico. We were sitting with the bus A/C running on full blast waiting for our laundry to come out of the dryer. Jordan was sitting in the driver seat staring aimlessly out the window with beads of sweat dripping into a pool on the front seat. Kaylee sat next to him with Lola on her lap panting into the A/C vent. Kaylee was desperate for relief from the thick, hot, humid air so she did the most rational thing she could think… open up Google Maps and type in ‘organic cafe.’ 1 organic cafe popped up and it just so conveniently happened to be a 2 minute walk away. After arguing for a few seconds about how organic isn’t “real” in Mexico because of the lack of food production regulations, we headed to the cafe, took a seat in the cool A/C and ordered this smoothie.
1 cup almond milk
1 heaping tbsp peanut butter (always heaping with the pb)
1 banana
3/4 tbsp maca powder
3/4 tbsp
cocoa powder
handful of ice
Directions
Add all ingredients together in a blender, blend on high for 1 minute or until smooth, lick the remainder of peanut butter off the spoon while you wait, put it in a nice glass with a metal straw and wallah! Instant satisfaction on a hot day.
